Over 400 seek safe haven in hurricane shelters

A number of Barbadians have heeded the warnings by officials to seek shelter if necessary, at any of the island's 33 hurricane shelters. As of right now there are over 400 people in shelters and close to 100 of them are at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre. Why would "Jesus is coming soon " be a scary thought? It's been such a long time coming.
Was Jesus also coming soon in 536 AD when there was a volcano that erupted and caused an entire year of winter, killing off plants and animals and disrupting human life on a worldwide scale? Or, when the bubonic plague killed off more than half of the population of Europe in the I4th century? Or World War 1 when millions died and which was followed by a global pandemic, or World War II when, again, millions were slaughtered? How soon is soon, after Jesus is alleged in the Bible to have said to a group of people he was addressing that he would be back before many of them died? I think it’s time we applied our hearts to common sense and realize that life is what it is.
Through it all we have to still trust Jesus and depend on his word 🙏🙏

I agree. Churches aren't what they used to be when I was going up in Barbados. Just as parenting isn't what it used to be. Growing up, I had to go to church every Sunday, even if my parent wasn't. I have begun watching service online on Sundays in recent months while I'm working and to see the attendance is horrible. When I was growing up in Barbados, the priest had programs to encourage young people. Today, I'm not seeing it. Parents aren't requiring their kids to attend church, and so there goes the neighborhood.
